Prolyxo took charge showing the way along the back to Imamint, Whakapara, Supreme Ruler, Glen Vane, LuoiUus, munyatoon, King’s Knave, ana Psychologist, the last named having boon chopped back. Three furlongs from home Prolyxo and Lucidus were together in front, this pair showing the way into the straight to Whakapara, Mungatoon, Imamint, King's Knave and Glen Vane. The race resulted in a dead-heat betweon Whakapara and King's Knave, with Prolyxo three-quarters of a length away. Glen Vane was fourth, followed by Imamiht, Lucidus, IVlungatoon, Psychologist and Supreme Ruler. Time, 1.27 3-5. TIRI HIGH-WEIGHT HANDICAP. Bolltopper (£771), Catch’em (£GSS) and Glen rata (£179) were most in demand. Belttopper and Master Norval showed the way out of the straight to Principal, Catch'em and Wee Prince. Racing along the back Master Norval and Bolltopper were* together with Catch’em, Principal and Woe Prince on terms, next followod by Eldora, Royal Survey and Glenrata. Glenrata ran up behind Master Norval and Belltopper across the top, this pair being followed into the straight by Catch’em and Principal. Master Norval beat Belltopper by a with Glenrata a head further away. Catch'em was fourth, and then came Sub-Editor, Principal, Royal Survey and Eldora. Time, 1.57 2-5.‘ PONUI HANDICAP. Senorita lod along the back from Sweet Whisper, Limex, Miss Rewa, Echo Song and Hawthorn. There was no change across the top and into the straight, Limex going on to win by a length from Senorita, who was two lengths in front of Bugle Call. The South Auckland shield match was drawn. Taumarunui (challengers) compiled 163 in their first innings, Waipa replying with 147 for four wickots when stumps were drawn (M. Barnett 51 not out, Osram 34). Rain interrupted play. Hamilton defeated Piako by two wickets and 59 runs. In reply to Piako’s first inning’s score of 118 Hamilton had 177 on the board for the loss rj eight wickots when stumps were drawn (H. Going 72). CRICKET. Auckland. —In meeting the senior cricket leaders Var3ity (192) beat North Shore (117) on the first innings. Dacrs did not score, being bowled by Matheson, who took eight wickots.
