PERSONAL.

Major H. Blake Taylor, of India, was in Hamilton yesterday. He will visit Waitomo before going to Rotorua.

Rev. Canon J. R. Wilford has left Christchurch en route for England, where lie and Mrs Wilford will take up their permanent residence.

Sir James Mills, who is making his fifth consecutive annual visit to New Zealand, is due at Auckland on December 21, by the R.M.S. Rangitata.

Messrs. J. W. Burtenshaw (Christchurch), Hall Skelton, L. J. Keeling (Auckland), P. Copeland and W. Stichbury (Wellington) are at the Hamilton Hotel.

Mr. Luke B. Wilson, of Amalgamated Theatres, Limited, has taken over the management of the Cambridge picture theatre. Until recently, Air. Wilson was manager of the Regent Theatre, at Palmerston North.

Surgeon-Licutenant-Commander R. 13. MoVicker, of 11.M.5. Veronica, whose term on the New Zealand station is expiring, will be relieved shortly by Surgeon-Lieutenant 11. G. Wells.

The Rev. E. E. Smith, of Spreydon, Christchurch, has received a unanimous call from tiie Royal Oak Baptist Church. Mr Smith, iias served Ihe Llnwood and Spreydon Churches in Christchurch for over 13 years.

Commandant J. F. Kells, of the Salvation Army, arrived at Wellington by the Zealandia to-day from Sydney. He went to Australia twenty-five years ago, ’and retired from active service eleven years ago. His home is in Brisbane.

Mr A. P. Wilson, who recently resigned his position as chief stipendiary steward to tiie New Zealand Racing Conference and accepted an engagement as chairman of stipendiary stewards for tiie Oueensland Turf Club in Brisbane, left Auckland for Sydney by the Murama to-day.

Having just, completed a tour as examiner for the Royal College of Music, of Jamaica, Canaria and Australia. Mr Hugo Anson, M.A., Mus. Rae., Hon. A.R.G.M.. son of Dr. U. E. Anson, of Lower Hutt, tirrhed in Wellington this week.
