The cricket match England versus an Australian eleven was begun to-day at Melbourne in One, cool weather. The wicket was in good condition. There were 23,000 spectators and Hie receipts totalled £I2OO. lho teams were:— England.— Wyatt (captain), Allen, Brown, Pataudi, Sutcliffe, Leyland, Bowes, Paynter, Duckworth, Larwood and Voce, with Mitchell as 12th. man Australia.
