MEETING OF COUNCIL. GENERAL BUSINESS. At the monthly meeting of the Cambridge Borough Council the Mayor (Mr G. 11. Priestley) presided. The Cambridge Croquet Club’s request for a reduction in rates was declined. The chairman, Main High wavs Board, wrote regarding the ne\v Karapiro Bridge project and stated that tho board had agreed to make investigation with a view to fixing a definite site, and the nature of tho structure. The borough engineer (Mr T. Dix) was appointed explosives inspector for Hie borough. Cr. A. Wilkinson spoke of the need fur taking early precautions for conserving the water supply during the summer months.
