MAGISTRATE’S COURT.

SITTING AT CAMBRIDGE. (Special to Times.) CAMBRIDGE, Thursday. In the Magistrate's Court, this morning, Robert Metcalfe, tratllc inspector to the Waipa County Council and highway group inspector, prosecuted Richard Shaw, sour., of Leamington, l'or driving a multi-axled lorry in Empire Street, Cambridge, on October 19, without a heavy traffic license. Defendant stated that lie did not think lie required a heavy traffic license for a one-ton truck. He had asked the inspector at Hamilton how lie stood and the inspector had stated that ho would consult with the Cambridge inspector. Inspector Metcalfe replied that as far hack as March lie told defendant lie would have lo take- out a heavy traffic license. Defendant was fined 40s, with costs ' 12s. J In connection with Hie above case, Eric Broderson, of Leamington, was charged with driving the lorry without a driver's license. He was lined 20s, with costs 10s.
