NEW HANGAR OPENED.
TE AROHA AERO CLUB. t PILOTS FROM AUCKLAND. RESULTS OF COMPETITIONS.^ (Special to Times.) TE AROHA, Wednesday. The Te Aroha Aero Club’s newly, completed hangar at Walhou was officially opened to-day, when there was an attendance of about 1000. There were five Moth machines, owned by the Auckland Aero Club and flown by Air E. R. Boucher, the president, Flight-Lieutenant D. M. Allan, the instructor, and Messrs C. J. Paine, R. G. Tappenden and F. C. Cadman, and each machine carried a passenger. Perfeot weather prevailed and th® crowd was given some. thrilling aerobatic displays. Formation flying by teams of three and bombing and a landing competition were included in the programme. The Alayor, Mr R. Coulter, officially opened the hangar and said he trusted the aero movement in Te Aroha would become a very Important one. Mr E. R. Bouoher, speaking for the visiting pilots, said that the aim of the Auckland Club was to create airmindedness among New Zealanders. This country, he said, was lagging behind others in aviation and everything possible should be done to foster It. The competitions resulted as fol-, lows: ! Bombing.—R. A. Kirkup, 1; E. B.
