TYPOGRAPHICAL DISPUTE.
NO AGREEMENT REACHED. DEADLOCK ON WAGES. (By Teledrapli.—Dress Association.) WELLINGTON, Thursday. No agreement was reached in the Conciliation Council, proceedings today in the dispute between the typographical workers and the employers. A deadlock was reached on the wages issue, and the proceedings were adjourned until November 15. The employers’ wages proposals provided for a reduction of approximately 10 per cent, from the net rates now being paid. The workers’ coun-ter-proposals were on the basis of the existing award. Although concessions were mentioned and considered, no finality was reached. If no agreement is come to by November 15 the present award will expire one month from the date of the commencement of the conciliation proceedings.
