NO DATE FIXED. United Press Assn. —Elec. Tel. Copyright. (Received October 26, 1.30 p.m.) OTTAWA, Oct. 25. No date has been fixed for the International Economic Conference, Mr R. B. Bennett told Mr Mackenzie King in the House of Representatives, but probably the press reports Indicating the postponement of the conference were based on some foundation. Mr Bennett said some discussion had been going on in connection with the projected conference, but particulars had not yet been made public.

Sir Walter Thomas Layton, editor of the Economist, has resigned from the preparatory committee of the Economic Conference, as lie considers Ids useful representation of the Government would lie precluded by divergent views regarding his implied endorsement of the compensatory tariff principle contained in the Otawa agreement with Australia and Canada and other matters.
