INTOXICATED MOTORIST.
FINE OF £lO IMPOSED. BEFORE THE -COURT PREVIOUSLY. (Special to Times.) MORRINSVILLE, Wednesday. Charged with being intoxicated ■while in charge of a motor-car, Joseph Fantham, a share-milker, of Kiwitahi, pleaded guilty before Messrs. G. Craig and W. Osbourne, Justices of the Peace, in the Magistrate's Court this morning. It was slated by Constable Heeps that accused liacl entered his car and was about to drive away when he was arrested, lie was under the influence of liquor and not in a lit condition to be in charge of a car. Constable llecps added that accused, who was suffering from Hie effects of war wounds, could not stand much drink. JL was not a bad case. He was before Hie Court in Hamilton only last April, when lie was lined £5 and his driver's license was suspended for 12 months. A fine or £lO in default one month’s imprisonment was imposed, two months being alowed in which to pay Hie fine. The Bench remarked that they had taken a lenient view of the case on account of accused’s circumstances. Accused consented to a prohibition order being made against him.
