BOWLING.
THE TAUPIRI CLUB. The Taupiri Bowling Club officially opened the season on Saturday. A good afternoon’s bowling was enjoyed. Visiting rinks from six clubs attended. Mr J. Seath, president, welcomed the visitors, and Mrs Seath rolled up the first kitty and bowl. The games resulted as follows: Huntly (Turton, skip, Thompson, Berry, Pendleton) 28 v. Glen Massey (Cornes, skip, Glraud, Gair, Smith) 18; Taupiri (Chappell, skip, Gatley, Tout, Gorman) 22 v. Cambridge (Webber, skip, Gardner, McNamara, Martin) 13; Frankton (Anchor, skip, Cann, Wilson, Gryls) 15 v. Taupiri (Seath, skip, Sing, Hunter, Tapper) 15; Taupiri (Garry, skip, Hill, Horwood, Whitehorn) 17 v. Claudelands (Reynolds, skip, Goodwin, Speight, Holland) 14; Whitiora (Swain, skip, Davis, Johnston, Blunt) 29 v. Taupiri (Waring, skip, Gleeson, Buss/ Hewitt) 18.
