NURSES’ DIPLOMAS.

PRESENTED BY MINISTER. HON. J. A. YOUNG’S TRIBUTE. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Wednesday. The Hon. J. A. Young, Minister of Health, to-day presented diplomas to the New Zealand nurses who have completed the post-graduate course. He thanked the Nurses’ Association for assisting in the granting of bursaries this year. So far In New Zealand GO nurses had taken the postgraduate course, and it was Interesting to note that many of them occupied positions such as matrons, submatrons, tutor sisters, ward sisters, nurse inspectors and other similar positions. He paid a tribute to the excellent work done by Miss Moore in conducting the studies, and thanked the Wellington hospital authorities for the facilities for the holding of a class, and Victoria College for its co-operation. Diplomas were handed to Misses Annie R. Edmonson, Auckland Hospital; Lillian M. llawkes, Whangarei; Jane Bell, Thames; Mavis Chisholm, Masterlon; lua C. Healey, Auckland; Mary W. A. Edson, Nelson: Kathleen 1. Craig, Wanganui and Tiniaru; Helen G. Smailbone, Napier.
