NEW ZEALAND TOURNAMENT. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) INVERCARGILL, Wednesday. A feature of to-day's play in the New Zealand basketball tournament was the defeat of Auckland by Otago, which was much superior on the day’s play. Results of to-day’s games -were:— South Canterbury, 19, beat Marlborough, 17;- Wellington, 16, beat Southland, .14; Otago, 25, beat Hawke’s Bay, 7Southland, 21, beat South Canterbury, 10; Otago, 19, beat Hawke's Bay, 11; Ashburton, 22, beat Auckland, 12; Canterbury, 23, beat Marlborough, 15; Canterbury, 23, beait Ashburton, 10. Following are the points for the New Zealand Cup:—Canterbury, 6; Otago, 6; Wellington, 4; South Canterbury, 2; Southland, 2; Ashburton, 2; Marlborough, 0; Hawke’s Bay, 0; Auckland, 0.
