THE WORLD’S NEED.

(To the Editor.) Sir, —I notice that the various writers on the world’s need (with exceptions) are prone to take the prophecies and God’s expressed word lightly and to scoff when the Kingdom of God is put forward as the solution to the present world trouble. These people voice public opinion, and this has a parallel in the beginning as it is written “As it was in the days of Noah so shall it be in the presence of the Son of Man.” In those clays the/world was filled with violence and the inhabitants a living reproach to Jehovah/ so he decided to destroy them by flooding the world. But before carrying out His intentions He looked around to see if any remained faithful to Himself, and amongst the race of idolators then existent found only Noah and his family. Noah was commissioned to build the Ark and to preach repentance and the end of the world, but so certain were the inhabitants of themselves, so confident in themselves, that they scoffed and laughed and went about their business. The deluge came upon them suddenly with disastrous results. The coming' trouble will also be sudden and disastrous. When people have reached the point of despair, deliverance will come; for then people will begin to ory to the Lord and He will hear them. God’s Kingdom will assume full control of the affairs of the world and will prove to be the desire of all nations.—l am, etc., GEO. LEITCH. Taneatua, Aug. 2i, 1932. P.S.—This will be my last contribution on this subject and 1 must take the opportunity to thank you for publishing my letters and to pay tribute to the broadminded and open manner in which the Public Opinion column is conducted.; —G.L.
