UNEMPLOYMENT STAMPS.
not affixed to document. FINE IMPOSED AT WANGANUI. (By Telegraph.— Press Association.) WANGANUI, Monday. The first case in the district of failing to affix unemployment stamps to a document where wages had been paid was dealt with before the magistrate, Mr Salmon. Defendant, F. G. Clark, explained that he had left the matter to his partner to attend to, but it was pointed out that under the partnership lie was equally liable. The magistrate said this was an offence against revenue, which was always regarded as a most serious matter. A fine of £2 was imposed.
