USE OF FERTILISERS. LOSS IN PRODUCTION. A striking illustration of the important part played in production by the liberal use of fertilisers is provided in a comparison of the production of the 1929-30 and 1930-31 seasons. Coincident wit li (he greatly decreased use of fertilisers, production per cow dropped from 2181!) butterfat in ttie 1929-30 season to an estimated production of only 1851 b butterfat for the season just closed. In 1929-30 season fanners used the greatest quantity of fertilisers over recorded in one seas.*-. 350,000 tons.
