Boneless Meat Trade.—lt was revealed during a debate in Ihe House of Commons last mouth that Ihe regulations are lo he stiffened up regarding the importation of boneless meats. There are always those who are on the watch to make food importation more diflleidl in favour of tile nome grower (states the Post’s London correspondent;. Apparently tiio Ministry of Health lias been impressed with the aliened necessity of requiring stronger assurances from (tic producer’s end as lo the origin of boneless meat consignments. Sir Hilton Young, speaking on behalf of the Ministry of Health, said that Hie only satisfactory way of ascertaining that meat was free from disease was by inspection of the whole carcase at, the time of slaughter, and in view of this the (iovernment proposed to amend Ihe Imperial Food nogulnlions so as to require an ofllcial rcrliilrale of inspection wilh any imported meat, less than the whole of the carcase. Notice of the coming into force of this proposed amendment will, doubtless, n\>pcar in due course.
