LONDON, June 9
The Berlin correspondent of the Times reports that the Minister of the Interior, Baron von Gayl, characterised talk of the re-establishment of the Monarchy in Germany as foolish and injurious.
Addressing the Reichsrat, the Minister said he believed a Monarchy was the most suitable form of Government, but when existence itself was at stake a Monarchy was not a question to be solved in our time. The Government would not distract the people afresh by reopening this question. BERLIN, June 9.
Herr von Papen’s Government denies any intention of appointing a Commissioner to administer Prussia. The Chancellor says he aims at stable government. A new emergency decree Imposes State salary cuts and other measures with a view of balancing the Budget.
