The recent Warrnambool meeting In Victoria brought into the limelight a young mare named Eastern Glow, who Is already being discussed as likely to win one of the big Australian spring handicaps. On the first day •she won over six furlongs, and tint astute Melbourne trainer Jack Holt promptly offered 500 guineas for her. The offer was refused, and on the second day Eastern Glow scored an easy victory in the Cup, one mile and three furlongs. She was then reported sol'd for £950 to Mr W. Thomson, but that sale fell through and she has been leased by a patron of Holt’s atablo. ‘Warrnambool Gup winners that went on to greater deeds were Purser (Caulfield Cup) and Tho 'Parisian (Melbourne and Australian •Clips). Eastern Clow is tho four-year-old daughter of English parents. Her sire, Eastern Monarch, a son of Lemberg, won over a mile and a-lialf in England. Her dam is Starry Night, by Skyrocket.
