AUCKLAND. Saturday,

At an Investiture held at Government House last evening the badge of a member of the civil division of the Order of the British Empire was presented to the Rev. D. N. MacDiarmkt In recognition of the valuable services he performed as a missionary for the Sudan United Mission in the Kordol'an Province, a work which was interrupted by his service during Hie Great War as Y.M.C.A. officer with the Australian Forces in the Sudan, Egypt and Palestine. Incidentally, Mr Mac Diarmid established at Gordon College, Khartoum, the first troop of Sudanese Boy Scouts. Returning last year to New Zealand, he was ordained by the Presbyterian Church and called to St. John’s Church, Opotlld, as minister. The decoration of the Colonial Auxiliary Forces Officers was presented by His Excellency to LieutenantColonel a. M. Samuel, M.P., Lieuten-ant-Colonel C. S. White, Major J. 11. Chisholm, Major K. J. Dellovv, Major M. H. R. Jones, Major J. F. Potter, Major A. W. Short, and Honorary .Captain G. L. Buckley. The 'Officers had served with merit and dlsttncton In the New Zealand Military Forces.
