His Majesty King George is 67 years of age to day. Mr A. S. Richards, M.P. for Roskill, is visiting Hamilton. Mr R. Duthie, of Christchurch, New Zealand manager Suttons, Ltd., is at the Hamilton Hotel. The Hon. C. E. Macmillan, Minister of Agriculture, returned to Wellington yesterday after touring the West Coast district of the South Island and visiting Dunedin. Mr C. Garrett, formerly manager of the Bank of New South Wales in Auckland, who has been transferred to Sydney, left by the Marama yesterday. Sir Otto Niemeyer has been appointed director of the Bank of International Settlement in succession to Sir Charles Addis.—London cable. Flying-Officer C. E. Kay, who flew from England to Australia with Fly-ing-Officer H. L. Piper, in a Desoutter monoplane in 1930, returned to the Dominion by the Talnui, which arrived in Wellington to-day. The Prime Minister, the Rt. Hon. G. W. Forbes, presided at another conference yesterday between the New Zealand delegates to the Ottawa Conference and primary producers. He presided at a short meeting of the Cabinet in the evening. Mr Justioe Thompson has been appointed a Royal Commissioner to inquire Into charges of misconduct against Mr C. J. Goode, Chief Transport Commissioner of New South Wales, who was appointed by the Lang Government to that post after Mr Goode's dismissal from the Railway Department. The resignation of Mr W. J. H. Reynolds (formerly of Hamilton), an honorary life member and a member of the executive of the Auckland Metropolitan Agricultural and Pastoral Association, was received at yesterday’s council meeting. Mr Reynolds has been transferred to Christchurch. The president, Mr J. T. F. Mitchell, paid a tribute to Mr Reynolds’ work for the association.
