ADDINGTON MARKET. Normal entries were received at the Addington market and values generally showed little change. Store Sheep.—There was a normal winter selection of good quality. The sale was irregular, but late rates were well maintained. The sale for lambs was freer Ilian last week, but there was no quotable change in values. Values were: —Good rape lambs to 3s, •ordinary m.s. 4s to 6s, medium ewe 7s to 8s 9d, ordinary ewe lambs to 6s 6d, ordinary 2-tooth halfbred wethers to 8s 4d, ordinary 4 and 6-toolh 7s to 9s Bd, Merino Is Sd, ordinary 2-tooth halfbred ewes 10s to 12s, ordinary • 4 and 6-toolh halfbred to 10s Id, sound-mouth halfbred 8s to 9s sd, aged to 3s 6d. Fat Lambs. —The entry of 3300 comprised mostly lightweight types. Butchers were not greatly interested, but 'among freezing works buyers competition was steady at schedule rates. Values were: —Extra prime lambs to 16s 9d. prime 14s to 16s, medium 12s to 14s, light 9s 6d to 11s Gd. store 8s 6d to 9s. Fat Sheep.—There was an entry of 5100, which met . with a freer sale, without quotable changes in values*. Values were:—Extra prime heavy wethers to 19s 4d, prime heavy 16s to 17s 6d, medium weight prime 13s 6d 'to 15s 6d, ordinary its to 13s, light 8s to 10s 6d, extra prime heavy ewes to 17s id, prime heavy 10s Oil to 13s 6d, medium weight prime 8s to 10s, .ordinary 6s to 7s 6d, light 4s to 5s Gd. ■ Fat Cattle.—The entry totalled 430 head, including lines from Southland and the North Island. The quality generally was- indifferent, but prices maintained the level .of late rates. Best beef made up to 24s per 1001 b, good 19s to 22s,' ordinary 15s to ISs 6d, Inferior down to 10s. Values were:—Extra prime heavy steers to £l2 7s Gd, prime heavy £7 13s to £lO 10s, medium weigtit prime £5 10s to £7 10s, ordinary quality £3 15s to £5 ss, light to £3 12s 6d, extra prime heifers to £9 7s 6d, prime £5 3s to £6 15s, medium £3 5s to £1 15s, light £2 to £3, extra prime cows to £S 2s 6d, prime £4 10s'to £6 10s, medium £2 15s to £4, light 23s to £2 10s. Fat Pigs.—There was a smaller entry of fat. pigs, and the demand throughout was good. Bacon was firmer. Values were:—Choppers 50s to £4 16s. baconers 4is Gd to 52s Gd, heavy 55s 6d to 60s, extra heavy to £3 10s Gd, average price per lb 4d to 4Jd,"porkers 22s Gd to 28s Gd, heavy 30s to 37s Gd, average price per lb fid to 54d. TE KUITI SALE. The Xe.w . Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., Te Kuiti, report having held their fortnightly sale at Te Kuiti, when a medium entry Of sheep and cattle were yarded. They quote::—Fat lambs Bs, fat ewes. 7s, ewes in lamb 6s 9d, m.s. lambs 4s 4d, fat cows 255, boner cows 10s, in-calf 18-months Hereford and P.A. heifers 255, Jersey heifer calves 245, bulls 10s to 255.
