ACT OF BRAVADO.
PEPPER THROWN IN THEATRE. YOUNG MAN FINED. NEW PLYMOUTH, Monday. A voung man’s action in showering a pound of pepper into a picture theatre from a ventilator was recounted in the Stratford Court to-day, when Charles John Parsons was fined £1 with costs 10s. A police sorgeant said that Parsons, on the evening of the offence, bought one pound of pepper at a store, and at 0.30 climbed on to the roof of the Tangarakau theatre and emptied the pepper down a ventilator. The result was that several members of the audience had to leave the hall. Parsons was discovered on the roof, and on being questioned said he had overdone it, as he ditl not intend to release all the pepper. lie expressed regret at having done it, his only reason for iiis action being that sonic of his males had dared him to do it, and he had done so out of bravado.
