HYDRO-ELECTRIC POWER.

THE WAITOMO BOARD. VERY SUCCESSFUL YEAR. At the annual meeting of the Waitomo Electric Power Board, Mr W. A. Lee was re-elected chairman. The annual report showed that a most successful years’ trading had resulted in a profit of £2130. The actual profit for the year on the sale of electricity was £2317, 'but this was offset by a loss in the trading department of £lB7. The sale of current amounted to £18,340, after wiping off £77 for bad debts. Mr T. O’Connell congratulated the retiring chairman on the very .successful year and trusted a further 10 per cent, reduction would be made to consumers in the cost of current. A special committee, consisting of the chairman, Messrs Cato and Sims, was set up to go into the question of estimates and tariff, and report at next meeting.
