TE AROHA ORPHANS.

OPENING NIGHT OF SEASON. The Te Aroha Orphans’ Club opened the 1932 session on Monday evening with a large assemblage of members, the Morrinsville Club representatives being guests. Bro. G. Gilchrist, the newlyelected president, was duly Installed into office by the retiring president, Bro. F. W. Firkin. Well-rendered selections were given by the orchestra; vocal items by Bros. A. L. Willis, W. G. Revell, 11. Heep, Echlund, Rev. C. W. Turner; violin solo, Bro. L. Flatt; recitation, Bro. C. Crawshaw; drum-stick torch exhibition, Bro. Moss; ventriloquial sketches, Rev. C. W. Turner and Claude. All the contributions were enthusiastically encored. | After the supper adjournment Bro. Gilchrist welcomed the new members and the Morrinsville visitors. He had pleasure in presenting the retiring president, Bro. F. W. Firkin, with a past-president’s gold badge. Bro. Firkin expressed pleasure at the kind thoughts that prompted the club in making the. gift.
