THE NEWEST CLOTHES.
. PURITANICAL “WICKEDNESS.” LONDON, March 22. An almost Puritanical note is creeping into the dresses which arc being shown for the coming season. As I sat at a dress show given by a wellknown West End firm the other day I must confess that l was snmewhm surprised at the turn things are taking. Tim highly sophisticated A ictonan creations which we have grown used to seeing—and wearing—during the last, .12 months seemed as dead as the short, daringly boyish models of 18 months ago. The new models were almost incredibly “ingenues"—a combination of naivete and simplicity, with .just a lilllo —a very little —air of wickedness which suggelscd that alter a.l Ihe wearer might not perhaps he quite so innocent as she looked.
