PARISHIONERS’ VOTE. Having voted 193 to 14 against the acceptance of Canon Rook —Archbishop Wright’s appointee—as their pastor, parishioners of St. Barnabas’ Church, Chatswood, will now, as an act of courtesv. notify the Archhisiv.' of the vote ™d ask that he reconsider the appointment, says a Sydney paper. Meanwhile, Canon Rook will “let mailers lake I heir course." ile would not say the day after fhe meeting whether lie intended to enter the Chatswood rectory, as planned, on Monday bul lie will celebrate farewservices at his old church, St. Aiden’s, Annandale, on Sunday. It is alleged by the spokesman of the parish'oners that at the meeting the congregation was really more solidly behind the officers who are opposing Canon Rook's appointment, than the official figures of the vote indicated. “It is known definitely (hat of the 14 who voted against the motion, at least six were not members of St. Barnabas’ Church, but came from Annandale and voted, although they were asked to leave," he said. The resolution “unreservedly endorsed the action already taken by the church officers.”
