CLAUDELANDS BADMINTON
OPENING NIGHT. The Claudelands Badminton Club held its opening night in the Parish Hall last evening. An excellent exhibition was given by Mr A. English, Mr A. B. Whyte, Mr C. Norris and Mr G. Simmons, members of the St. Peter’s Club, and the remainder of the evening was spent in dancing. Much of the success of the evening was due to the untiring efforts of thg committee who were: Miss Cecille Chitty, wearing black lace; Miss Mary Gillies, floral georgette; Miss Alison Bell, rose patterned taffetas; Miss Erena Ward, green figured voile; Miss Muriel Barber, blue patterned beaute. Among those present were:—Mrs H. T. Gillies, ebony georgette; Mrs E. Taine, buttercup charmalaine; Miss M. White, jade faille; Miss E. Upton, flame satin; Miss B. Wilson, black lace; Miss E. Griffith, beige georgette; Miss N. Pittar, saracen red satin; Miss Mary Barber, blue Coral voile; Miss M. McGuinness, black panne velvet; Miss B. O’Neill, lime taffetas; Miss E. O’Neill, jade lame; Miss E. Monckton, bronze faille; Miss Joyce Manning, cherry and jade ripple ninon; Miss P. Clapham, black lace relieved with red; Miss F. Lightbourne, ebony faille; Miss D. Clegg, buttercup shaded taffetas; Miss M. Greville, mist blue ripple ninon; Mrs C. Henry, crushed strawberry ninon.
