UNLIGHTED BICYCLES

MENACE TO MOTORISTS. LAW SHOULD BE MORE STRICT. The risk run by cyclists who travel at night without lights was emphasised at a meeting of the Hamilton district agency of tlie Auckland Automobile Association last night, when the subject of the regulations governing night cycling were under discussion. Several speakers drew attention to the large number of cyclists in Hamilton who had neglected to have a section of their rear mudguard painted white, as laid down by law. The general opinion was that in the interests of public safety these regulations should be more strictly enforced locally, and it was decided to request the Borough Council lo take steps in this direction.
