EASTBOURNE SEAT. RETAINED BY CONSERVATIVES. United Press Assn.—Elec. Tel. Copyright. (Received April 29, 10.30 a.nj.) LONDON, April 28. Owing to the lamented death of Mr E. Marjoribanks (Conservative) the Eastbourne seat (Sussex) became vacant. At the by-election Mr John Slater (Conservative) has been returned unopposed. At the general election the late Mr Marjoribanks was returned with a majority of 25,861, the voting being: Marjoribanks 31,240, A v J. Marshall (Labour) 5379.
