CANBERRA, April 29
Extended powers to control immigration and the deportation of undesirables are embodied in a Rill to amend the Immigration Act, which was read a first time in the Senate.
Under Hie amended Act any person may be declared a prohibited immigrant who has been convicted of a crime and sentenced to imprisonment for one year or more.
