—THE ANNUAL MEETING. CNFINANCIAL 'MEMBERS’ POSITION The r annual meeting of the Marist Brothers’ Old Boys’ Football Club was held-In-the Marist Hall, Hamilton East,' last evening, the president (Mr P,. Kelly) .presiding ••over a good attendance Of members and supporters. As a mark of respect to, the memory of the late Brother Calixtus, the meeting stood in silence. In a review of the year’s activities, tho chairman commented on outstanding subscriptions of members. It % was high time, he said, the club made a definite rule debarring players from participating in games when the pre- • 'Vloiis year’s subscription was outstanding. No club could afford to carry these so-called “sports." In view of the fact that a resolution was passed at the annual meeting last season stipulating that only financial members should be issued with players’ passes, Bro. Clemens questioned whether this rule had been adhered to during the past season. The secretary, Mr J. McCabo Mills, : informed the meeting that the rule had ’ been rigidly observed. Players had •• been admitted to Rugby Park, how- '■* ever, whether they had passes or not, and the club’s action in the stand it had taken had been nullified by the laxity of Rugby Union officials. i-;:„ Tribute To Services. Appreciation of the work of Mr P. 'Kelly in the interests of the club, was . .voiced by Bro. Clemens. Their late "•. president, lie said, in his long associ- ‘ : alien with the club as an active sup- • porter and ofllce-bcarcr over the past five seasons, had contributed largely to • the club’s present position, lie moved that appreciation of Mr Kelly’s ryerviees be placed on record and that he be elected to life membership. The motion was carried by acclamation. t Election of Officers. The election of officers resulted:— Patron, Rev. Father Bleakley; president, Rev. Father O’Gorman; secretary, Mr J. McCabe Milts; treasurer, Mr C. / McCormack; auditor, Mr E. A. Cox; honorary surgeon, Dr. T. A. Milroy; management committee, Bro. Clemens, ; - Messrs. H. McCormick, R. Lewis, P. Ryan, F. Buckingham; club captain, C. McCormack; club chaplain, Rev. Father O’Gorman; club coach, Mr F. W. Atkin. The appointment of coaches for the lower grade teams was left to the management committee. Mr F. Buckingham was appointed coach to the junior team. Delegate to Hamilton Rugby Sub-Union, Bro. Vlrgilius; delegate to Junior Advisory Board, Mr M. O’Halloran; delegates to St. Mary’s Combined Catholio Club's Association, Messrs. J. McCabe Mills, F. Main.
