WEDDING.

WATSON —THOMPSON. The marriage was solemnised at the Matangi Churclf on Wednesday, April 27, between Elsie Mildred, second daughter of Mr and Mrs T. Thompson, Matangi, and Thomas Fergus Watson, son of Mr and Mrs J. Watson, of Te Poi. The church had been beautifully decorated by friends of the bride with masses of chrysanthemums, and a huge floral wedding well. The Rev. D. H. Hay, 8.A., officiated, and Miss Mavis Shaw presided at the organ. The bride, who was given away by her brother, Mr C. Thompson, wore a beautiful brock of white taffeta, ankle length, and an embroidered tulle veil falling from a coronet of orange blossoms; she carried a bouquet of pale pink and white chrysanthemums and rosebuds and maidenhair fP'VU. The bridesmaids were Miss Dorothy Thompson, sister of the bride, J'’;' 10 was dressed in lemon floral taffeta, ankle length, with blue felt hat and carried a bouquet of lemon and blue flowers and maidenhair fern, and Miss R. Watson, sister of the bridegroom, who wore pale blue floral taffeta, ankle length, with shaded pink and blue straw hat trimmed with blue and carried a bouquet of pink and blue flowers and maiden-hair fern. Mr Amoore, ,of Helensville, supported the bridegroom and Mr Norman Thompson acted as groomsman. After the ceremony a reception was held at the residence of the bride's parents, Mrs T. Thompson receiving her guests in a brown frock and coat with hat to tone, and carrying an autumn tinted posy. , Mrs J. Watson, mother of the bridegroom, wore a navy coat, black vehet and felt hat with diamente buckle. Later the young couple left by car, the bride travelling in a blue wool georgette frock, navy coat and bowlei hat. , . . Amongst the large number of guests present were Mr and Mrs J. Watson, and Mr and Mrs A. Watson, of Te Pol, Mr and Mrs Grantham, of Okoroire, Mr and Mrs Settle (Hinuera), Mrs Bond and Misses C. and N. Bond (Auckland), Mr and Mrs Anderson and Mr Bruce Anderson (Hamilton), Mrs Lowther (Manawaru), Mr and Mrs Carswell and Mr and Mrs Laidlaw (Gordonton), Mr and Mrs Harry Thompson (Hamilton), Mrs Parker (Frankton), Mr and Mrs J. Peake (Te Awamutu), Mrs E. Bell (Whakatane), Mrs R. B. Nicholson (Lichfield), Mr and Mrs and Miss Hunter (Hinuera), Mr Eric Settle (Hinuera), Mr and Mrs G. Whyte (Walton), Mr R. H. Trounson (Wellst'Ord), Mr C. Thompson (Whakatane).
