HOCKEY.
WAIKATO ASSOCIATION. SEASON OPENS TO-MORROW. PRELIMINARY ROUND DRAW. The following is the draw for the preliminary round in the first grade of the Waikato Hockey Association’s competitions, commencing on Saturday. All matches will be played at Steele Park, Hamilton East. The grounds will he allotted to the respective matches from week to week, as under:
April 30.—Pirates v. Old Boys’ Colts, on No. 2 ground, at 3 p.m. Ohaupo v. Old Boys, on No. 3 ground, at 1.45 p.m. 'Kaipaki v. Hinemoa, on No. 2 ground, at 1.45 p.m. Cambridge a bye.
May 7.—Cambridge v. Kaipaki; Hinemoa v. Ohaupo; Old Boys v. Pirates; Old Boys’ Colts a bye. May 14.—Kaipaki v. Ohaupo; Hinemoa v. Old Boys; Cambridge.v. Old Boys’ Colts; Pirates a bye. ■Seven teams have been entered for the first grade competition and these have been accepted for the preliminary competition only. The management committee will decide after the preliminary matches have been commenced whether the above teams will all be accepted in the first grade competition for the Klllip Memorial Shield. The second grade competition has been postponed for three weeks.
