COUNTY ELECTIONS^
NOMINATIONS RECEIVED THE RAGLAN COUNCIL. EIGHT RIDING CONTESTS. Nominations for representation on the Raglan County Council closed at noon to-day. In those ridings where only one nomination has been received no election will be necessary. Sitting members are marked with an asterisk. The nominations are:— Port Waikato Riding.—Alfred Cobourne.* Pukekawa Riding.— Lawrence James McGuire,* Leslie Cochrane Logan. Onewhero Riding.—Percival George Riley Taylor,* Samuel Henry Crawford. ■Whangahape Riding.—William Archibald Harrison Murray,* Carl Newton Worker. Pukemiro Riding.—John Hoyle Furniss,* Ronald Charles Tapp. Waingaro Riding.—Harold William’ Wilson,* Andrew Sinclair Sutherland. Te Akau Riding.—John Edward Ricnardson,* Thomas Parker. Karamu Riding.—'Halliburton Johnstone.* -j Pirongia Riding.—Michael John J| Corcoran.* _ * Whaingaroa Riding.—William James Lustly, William James Pond. Whaingaroa Riding was previously represented by Thomas Parker, who at the forthcoming election will contest the Te Akau riding. Karioi Riding.—Gordon William Vernon,* Wallace Thomson. Matakowhai Riding.—Jack Lintoa Young Martyn.* Central Power Board. As the nomination of George Smith was the only one received for representation on the Central Electric Power Board, no election will be necessary. Waikato Hospital Board. Mrs B. A. Scott* and Mr H. W. Wilson* were the only candidates nominated for representation on the Waikato Hospital Board and are accordingly returned unopposed. Franklin Power Board. L. J. Reals has been returned unopposed to represent the County on the Franklin Power Board. The elections will be held bn Wednesday, May 11.
