SURPRISE PARTY.

HAPPY EVENING SPENT. A happy evening was spent at the home of Miss Mavis Laurenson, in Claudelands, when a number of her friends took a surprise party there on a recent evening. The time was spent with games and dancing, interspersed with items, and the party was brought to a close with the singing of “For She’s a Jolly Good Fellow" and “Auld Lang Syne.” During the evening songs were given by Misses R. Sutherland, A. Labrum and N. Ilendrv, while Misses M. Laurenson and D. Gilmore entertained with dances. Those present were:—Mesdames Laurenson, Kehoe (Auckland), Oliver, Gilmore, Hendry, Taylor, Godward, Musson (Christchurch), Misses M. Laurenson. E. Sutherland, R. Sutherland, 11. Gilmore. R. Preston (Auckland). D. Gilmore, N. Hendry, Revel! (To Aroha), A. Labrum, E. Taylor, I. Collins, J. Smith and Haines.
