The essential thing is to make one job of these duties of citizenship. They are both part of one transaction, and to make two operations of them may cause personal inconvenience and unnecessary trouble. Both levy and tax fall due on May 1, and Hie form for declaration of income is obtainable at all money order offices.

An Important -point to remember is that it is optional whether the declaration of income is made q,t a Post Office or to the Income Tax Commissioner; but if a return of Income has been made to the latter official it is essential that a declaartion that this has been done shall be made at the Post Office—it is not necessary to make two declarations of income.
