MINIATURE RIFLES.
HAMILTON CLUB
Q. MURCHIE WINS FOURTH SHOOT. Some very good shooting was witnessed at the miniature range in the Drill Hall, when the Hamilton Miniature nine Club held it’s fourth shoot. The club Is making rapid strides to popularise this sport, and has, so far, enrolled 24 members. Four trophies have been presented for competition and tlie club’s thanks are extended to the donors thereof, Messrs n.S.A. Co.. W. H. Tisdall Ltd., N. E. Devitt and Cap!. C. F. Thomas. The following secured possible (70) at this week's shoot: — j G S. Murchie, handicap 20, A. Allen (16), L. Bull (20), L. Cockhead (20), E. Duncan (19), T. B. Kirk (20), I. Page (8), and C. F. Thomas- (5).
G. S. Murchie won the shoot off. All handicaps have now been adjusted to the new scoring and some verj- good and keen shooting should be witnessed in the future.
The best cards of the evening were returned by Messrs I. Page with an actual score of 68, C. F. Thomas 65, M. Durey 63, and N. Devitt 61. The club is now negotiating for the purchase of four special target rifles, and if these arrive in time for next Wednesday's shoot, the competitions for the season will commence that night. This sport has taken on so successfully in Hamilton, that there are rumours of another club being formed in Hamilton East.
