THE BOY SCOUTS
FRANKTON ACTIVITIES. ST. JAMES TROOP'S PROGRESS. The Interest which Is being taken in the Boy Scout movement in Frankton was evidenced in the large attendance of parents at the first annual meeting of the St. James Frauktoil West Scout Troop. Rev. F. Parker presided, and in commenting on tiio activities of the troop’s inaugural year he said that the boys had a progressive year of quiet, steady work under his leadership. The troop held several very successful church parades. lb) was grateful to Commissioner Ward for appointing Scouler M Davidson to take charge of the troop. In conclusion, Rev. Parker expressed his thanks to Mrs Waite, Mr Harris. Mr Marshall and to the anonvmous donor of a Union Jack, far the great interest they had taken in Iho movement. \fter the reading of the report Major Ward, the District Commissioner addressed the meeting, giving a short, outline of the principles and ideals of Scouting. A committee of 14 was appointed for the ensuing year. Rev 1 aikor was unanimously elected chairman an ‘rt Mrs Lee was elected secretary and treasoner. So outer Davidson was nominated as assistant scoutmaster.
