COMMON GAMING HOUSE.
EUCHRE TOURNAMENTS ILLEGAL. FOUR MEN FINED. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) AVELLINGTON, Friday. Fines of £2 each were imposed on four men, Grant, Shand, Brown and Saxon, for using the Dixieland Hall in Cuba Street as a common gaminghouse.
The prosecution was in connection with euchre tournaments held at the Hall, in which defendants were partners.
