JOURNALIST DROWNED.
EDITOR (MANCHESTER GUARDIAN. CAPSIBE OF A DINGHY. United Press Assn. —Elec. Tel. Copyright. (Received April 23, 1.15 p.m.) LONDON, April 22. Mr E. T. Scolt, editor of the Manchester Guardian, with his son Richard, aged 16, embarked in a dinghy to board a yacht on Lake Windemere. The dingliy capsized and Richard clung to the keel. Mr Scott, who was a strong swimmer, attempted to reach the shore, but was drowned.
Mr Scott recently succeeded his father to the editorial chair of the Manchester Guardian. His father, who died a few months ago, was acknowledged to be one of the most brilliant of British Journalists, and his death was widely deplored.
