NO INTERFERENCE. DECLARATION IN LONDON. United Press Assn.- -F’ec. Tel. Copyright. (Received April 22. i 2.30 p.m.) LONDON, April 21. Mr J. G. Latham, Federal AttorneyGeneral, who is in London to represent the Commonwealth in the Privy Council appeal case in reference to the abolition of the Legislative Council in New South Wales, has issued a statement, in which he cites the declaration of the Federal Prime Minister (Mr J. A. Lyons) and the effect that the Australian exchange would not be varied for political reasons; also Sir R. Gibson’s (chairman of the Commonwealth Bank) announcement on the subject. Mr Latham adds that these statements make it clear that the Commonwealth Government, has no intention of interfering with the Commonwealth Rank Board’s function in determining the exchange rate In the interests of the community generally.Mr Latham was given an audience by His Majesty and afterwards had luncheon with the King and Queen.
