ALLOWANCES TO STUDENTS. WILL THEY BE CUT? (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Thursday. In the House of Representatives today Mr R. A. Wright (Government — Wellington Suburbs) drew attention to the report of tho National Expenditure Commission recommending that all the allowances to training college students be reduced to £52 per annum. He asked whether the Government intended to adopt this recommendation and also whether it was aware that students at the college had entered on their studies on the understanding that the allowances would not bo reduced. The Prime Minister, the Rt. Hon. G. W. Forbes, said tho question of allowances to training college studenls was at present receiving the consideration of the Government. It was not a fact that students had entered the service on the understanding that the allowances would not he reduced during their term.
