MURDER IN HOBART. ROBBERY THE MOTIVE. United Press Assn. — Klee. Tel. Copyright. HOBART. April 5. A brutal murder was perpetrated in Harrington Street, Hobart. The victim was Charles Whelan. (55. a waterside worker, who was living alone. Whelan was shot by one of two men who later were seen running away from the scene. A neighbour heard the men demanding money, also Whelan's protests. Then a sliol was heard. One neighbour followed the two men for some distance. When he returned he found Whelan dead.
