The ruse of a girl servant in a housa’ at East Grinstead. Sussex, deserved a heller reward than it obtained. . Several burglaries in tiie district made the girl suspicious when a man called at Templccombc House to repair the telephone. The girl, who knew the telephone! was in order, kept the man in conversation while Jim police were sent for. When they arrived, however. Die man was found to be a new telephone linesman who had mistaken ttia house for one of the same name afc Cowden.
