In the final of the men’s singles Crawford (New South Wales), retained the title after a gruelling match with Hopman (Victoria), 4—6, 6—3, 3 —6, 6—3, 6—l. In the junior singles McGrath (New Soulh Wales) heat Quist (South Australia), 6—4, 6 —2. In the women’s singles Mrs Buttsworlh (New. South Wales) beat Miss Le Messurier (South Australia), 9 —7, 6—4. In the mixed doubles Crawford and Mrs Crawford beat Satoh and Mrs O'Hara Wood, 6—3, B—6, 6—3. The women’s doubles were won by Mesdames Crawford and Buttsworth (New South Wales), who beat Misses Le Messurier and Weston (South Australia), 6—2, 6—2.
In the men’s doubles Crawford and Moon beat Patterson and Hopman, 4—6, 6—4, 12—10, 6—3. AUSTRALIAN WOMEN’S TEAM. EXHIBITION MATCHES. WELLINGTON, Monday. 'The Australian women’s tennis team took part In exhibition matches here on Saturday. Results: — Women's Singles.—Miss Hartigan beat Mrs Molesworth, 3 —6, 6—3, 6 Miss Hall beat Mias Valkenburg, 6—4, 6—4. Women's Doubles —Mrs Molesworth and Miss Hall beat Misses Vaikenburg and Harligan, 7 —5, 9—7. Men’s Doubles.—France Brothers beat Wilson and Court, B—6,8 —6, 6—3. Mixed Doubles. —A. L. -Franco and Mrs Dykes beat Court and Miss Hall, B—6, B—lo, 6 —1,; D. G. France and Mrs Melody beat Wilson -and Miss Vaikenburg, 3—6, 6—4, 7—5; Court and Mrs Molesworth beat D. G. France and Mrs Sturman, 6—4, I—6 (set all); Wilson and Miss Hartigan and A. L. France and Miss Nicholls, 7 5—7 (set all).
