r OCEAN YACHT RACE.

FOR BALOKOVIC CUP. VICTORY WINS THE TROPHY. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) AUCKLAND, Monday. The yacht Victory, owned and sailed by M. I. George, won the first race for the Balokovlc Cup, returning to port at 9.17 o’clock this morning, after completing the oourse of 180 miles. The only other finisher of five starters was the Waione, sailed by R. J. Thompson. The course was the longest set for any ocean race in New Zealand. It was from Auckland to Sail Rock, off Whangauci, lo Cuvier Island, and back to Auckland. The yachts started at eight o’clock on Friday night and met with a gale off Whangarei, and three ol' the five retired with split mainsails.
