Following upon the refusal of Herr Hitler and his Nazi followers, also of the German National Party, to support the plan of the Chancellor, Dr. Bruening, of extending Marshal von Hlndenburg’s term of ofiice as President by a Rechstag resolution, an election will be held in; the usual way. The Hitler party’s support of Marshal von Hindenhurg’s candidature is regarded as, certain. Therefore his election is assured as his only opponent probably will be Herr Thaelmann, Communist, who in 1925 re-, celved 1,930,000 votes. "One of us must die, and it Is thou, dog of a Frenchman, because we must live,” declared Herr Spangemaoher, the National Socialist leader in the Reichstag, speaking at Oldenburg. Expressing the hope that German troops soon would be marching across the Rhine against France —their deadliest ifoe—the speaker added Insulting epithets regarding M. Briand and M. Laval.
