The Governor-General, Lord Bledisloe, and the' Lady Bledisloe, who have paid unofficial visits this week to Kawau Island, the Lillie Barrier and Port Fitzroy on the Great Barrier, returned to Auckland last evening.

Captain A. Bullock-Wellster, of California, is'at the Hamilton Hotel.
Sir Louis Barnett, of Dunedin, will return to New Zealand on January 24 by the Remuera.
Messrs C. H. Weston, A. Fraser, R. Hume, J. F. Riches, Claud J. Beasley, Chas. J. Beasley, C. H. Bishop (Auckland), and C. H. Yates (Wellington), are at the Hamilton Hotel.
The resignations of Staff Nurses' M. til. Makgill and G. E. Thomas were accepted at the meeting of the Waikato Hospital Board to-day and the nurses thanked for their services.
The Mayor of Dunedin, 'Mr R. S Black, became suddenly ill a few days before his intended return from holiday this week, and will be unable to resume his duties for some time.
Mr M. W. Horton, for a number of years a member of the New Zealand Golf Council, who has been in New York for some years, will return to New Zealand next month.
Dr. H. N. Maclean, minister of the United Evangelical Church, Auckland, who intended returning to Vancouver by the Aorangi on Tuesday morning, has agreed to his parishioners’ request to remain in Auckland.
Mr K. M. Wright, engineer to the Raglan County, was granted permission at yesterday’s meeting of the council to attend the annual general meeting of the New Zealand Society of Civil Engineers, at Wellington, on February 23.
Resolutions of sympa'hy with the relatives of Mrs W. I. Conradi, wife of the late Mr Conradi, who was secretary of the Waikato Hospital Board for"2l years, and with the relatives of Mrs B. C. Lowry, wife of Mr Lowry, president of the Sunshine League, were passed at a meeting of the Hospital Board to-day.
A resolution of condolence with the relatives of the late Mr J. Boddie, of Auckland, was passed at to-day’s meeting of the Waikato Hospital Board. The chairman (Mr J. J. R.vburn) stated that ns a member of the hoard some years ago Mr Boddie had been largely instrumental in having a hospital established at Tc Kulti.
