JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL.
MEETING AT MATAMATA, The monthly meeting of the Junior High School Committee was held at Matamata, Mr A. M. A. Wright presiding in the absence of the chairman. A vote of sympathy was recorded with Mr 11. Rollett, a member of tho committee, in his illness. The secretary was instructed to write to tho Board of Education asking for proportional representation. At present the Matamata Primary School, which provides practically half of tiio pupils attending the Junior High School, has only ono representative on the committee, and it is felt that an injustice is being done. Tho headmaster reported tho roll number at 24 8, with an average attendance of 227. Application had been made to tho Herbert Smith Trust for a grant tu purchase honours hoards for school sports, athletic and running, and it was suggested that the committee should consider the provision of similar boards on which to record examination successes. Members were agreeable lo the suggestion of honours hoards, and quotations and samples are to be asked for.
