Philip James Mond and Victor Cunninghame were again remanded to September 29, on the charge of having at Sydney between August 1 and September IS conspired to defraud shareholders of the Ocean Investment Trust, Ltd., and other persons, of large sums of money. The police stated that their Inquiries were not completed, but when they were ready the case would be short. Counsel for the men objected to the remand. He said the cheques concerned were drawn not for the accused’s benefit but to pay the liabilities of other companies. They had been in custody for four days and were unable to obtain bail.
